Abstract
1286101 Domestic knitting machines EMPISAL (PTY) Ltd 3 Sept 1969 [3 Sept 1968] 43708/69 Heading D1C A domestic knitting machine for knitting two different yarns on different groups of needles during one traverse of a cam box 1 has a lower yarn guide 4 to guide a yarn II to one group of needles and an upper yarn guide 4a to guide a yarn I so that, during rightward movement of the cam box 1, the yarn is engaged by a claw 6 on the left of the cam box and during leftward movement of the cam box the yarn is engaged by a similar claw 7 on the right at the cam box, as a result of which the yarn I, which moves ahead of the yarn II is engaged and knitted earlier with its group of needles than is the yarn II. The claws 6, 7 are in two pieces, a piece 10 being pivoted on a piece 12 and, at the end of each traverse, an adjustably mounted stop 16 pivots the piece 10 to disengage the yarn so that it extends between the guide 4a and the knitting in order that it may be engaged by the other claw at the start of the next traverse.
