Abstract

1,165,109. Knitting-machines. VYZKUMNY USTAV PLETARSKY. 3 July, 1968 [14 July, 1967], No. 31813/68. Heading D1C. Patterning is achieved on a warp knitting- machine by varying the tension in the pattern warp yarns. For this purpose the pattern warp yarns extending from their beam to the needles of the machine are engaged by guides 8 on levers 6 adapted to be deflected downwardly or upwardly under the dictates of a pattern drum 1 to impose an increased tension in the yarns. A single set of levers or a double set of levers with a second pattern drum may be provided to impose the variation in tension on the warp. An adjustable stop 10 determines the position of the levers 6 initially.
