Abstract

566,960. Linear-dimension gauges. GRICE, N. W. May 21, 1943, No. 8079. [Class 106 (ii)] The operating pin of a gauge of the dialindicating type is moved by a lever 6 pivoted in a housing 1 and contacting the work at one end 9 and engaging at its other end 10 with a slidable wedge 5 which bears against a sleeve 12 secured to the operating pin. The wedge 5 also bears through balls 11 against a fixed block 3. Balls are also provided between the wedge 5 and the sleeve 12. The device may be in the form of an attachment for an existing gauge, the housing being clamped to the gauge stem by a collar 1a. Excessive movement of the lever 6 is prevented by a projection 13 which engages the fixed block 3.
