[Class 106 (ii)] A linear-dimension gauge comprises a gauge block or an assembly of gauge blocks (not shown) to one end of which is secured a base or fixed gauging member and to the other end of which is clamped a member a in which is slidably mounted the other gauging member c. The member c carries a screw d extending through a nut e by which the member c may be adjusted finely as indicated by a scale f and vernier g. A knurled screw h holds the member c in adjusted position.
