Abstract
698,028. Linear-dimension gauges. STANDARD GAGE CO., Inc. March 11, 1952, No. 6312/52. Class 106 (ii). A gauge for measuring small bores comprising a dial indicator (11) mounted on a housing (10) from which extends a sleeve (43) with a block (22) at the opposite end having a measuring plunger (35) mounted for movement at right angles to the sleeve axis, this movement being transmitted through a rod (28) to the dial indicator (11), is characterised by a centring disc (36) mounted and retained on the block (22) and co-operating with the plunger (35) to measure the diameter of the bore (42). The wedge-shaped end of the rod 28 engages in a corresponding notch in the plunger 35 which, when depressed, cams the rod 28 moving it longitudinally, against spring bias and displacing the head 13 of the dial indicator. The centring disc 36 can be replaced by others of various sizes.
