Abstract

1,022,554. Bore concentricity gauges. A EISELE. May 6,1963, No. 17783/63. Heading G1H. A gauge for measuring the concentricity of a pair of bores B, C comprises a replaceable gauging member 14 connected to a structure 20 rotatable relative to a stationary structure 18 housing a dial gauge 16. The gauging member 14 has a cylindrical surface 142 which fits snugly but slidably into bore C, and a reduced diameter portion 140 housing a transverse sliding measuring pin 146 having a rounded end 148 to engage bore B and an arcuate edge 150 which engages the inclined surface 136 of a transmission rod 130 slidable in the member 14. Thus, when member 14 is inserted into the bores B, C and rotated by means of the structure 20, any lack of concentricity causes transverse movement of measuring pin 146 which is transmitted by rod 13 and further transmission members 88, 80, 76, 66 to the plunger of the dial gauge 16. In an alternative embodiment, the plunger of the gauge is coaxial with rod 130.
