566,638. Blow-pipe burners. JENSON, J. Oct. 4, 1943, No. 16204. [Class 75 (i)] A heating nozzle for use in substitution for the cutting nozzle of a cutting blow-pipe burner comprises a tubular inner member 1 threaded or otherwise secured in the cutting oxygen orifice of the blow-pipe head and an outer sleeve 2 secured at one end to the blow-pipe head and at the other formed with a number of holes or slots F. The oxygen supplied through the cutting orifice in the blow-pipe head passes through radial or inclined holes B at the end of the member 1 and mixes with the fuel gas supplied through the blow-pipe head to the annular space surrounding the member 1 before discharge through the holes F. The inner member may be formed or fitted with a diaphragm D closely fitting the sleeve 2 and formed with axial or inclined passages E.
