Abstract
566,315. Blow-pipe burners. OXYFERROLENE, Ltd., and HOBBS, J. June 16, 1943, No. 9674. [Class 75 (i)] A metal surfacing or de-skinning burner nozzle comprises a tubular body 1, the central bore 2 of which forms the oxygen passage and is flared or formed with an enlargement 4 adjacent the discharge orifice 3, and a surrounding sleeve 11 coned internally at its forward end 20 to fit over a grooved enlargement 5 of the body 1 and formed at its rear end with a flange 19 having a coned edge 10 to seat against a coned flange 7 at the rear end of the body. The body 1 and sleeve 11 are secured against seatings in the nozzle holder by a nut 23 engaging the flange 19. The fuel gas passes from the holder through a circular series of passages 17 in the flange 7 to an annular space 18 between the body 1 and sleeve 11 and is discharged through rectangular grooves or channels 6 in con. verging jets about the oxygen jet. A ring 22 of stellite or other refractory material may be pro. vided at the forward end of the sleeve 11.
