Abstract
540,550. Liquid fuel burners. WALLSEND SLIPWAY & ENGINEERING CO., Ltd., and DOBBS, A. G. Dec. 25, 1940, No. 18133. [Class 75 (i)] A liquid fuel burner comprises a body A fitted with a nozzle D and formed with an air inlet B provided with a pivoted guide member F, and a fuel tube H slidably mounted in a tube C and carrier member 8 communicating with a fuel supply nipple 13. The tube H is fitted with a hand-wheel 10 formed with a sleeve 11 threaded on the member 8 to enable the fuel passing to the tube through a pear-shaped orifice J adjacent a plug J<SP>1</SP> to be regulated. The forward end-of the tube C is formed as an annular space K' having angled ports K through which air may pass to the discharge end of the tube H. A stop collar K<SP>2</SP> limits the rearward movement of the tube H. Specification 479,191 is referred to.
