489,479. Liquid-fuel burners. BOLT, F. L., and WALLSEND SLIPWAY & ENGINEERING CO., Ltd. March 3, 1938, No. 6648. [Class 75 (i)] A burner for liquid fuel or coal held in suspension in liquid fuel comprises a tubular convergent burner body A having a lateral air inlet B, a detachable discharge nozzle D threaded in the body A, a fuel injector tube C extending axially along the body A, and fitted at its forward end with a centrifugal atomizer K such as that described in Specification 421,166 and an air guide flap F fitted in the inlet B to impart a whirling motion to the air. The adjustment lever G of the flap F may be secured in position by a bolt and wing- nut. Specification 479,191 also is referred to.
