[Class 75 (i)] A low pressure liquid . gaseous, or pulverulent fue: burner comprises a hollow body a formed internally with a shallow spiral rib a<2>, a circular or elliptical nozzle a' detachably secured to the body a, a fuel tube b having a plain external surface and formed internally with spindle rib b<1>, and a fuel inlet box b<2>; formed with a spiral fuel passage b<4>. The tube b is adjustably threaded in the May a and is secured by a riut c. An adjustable needle valve d passing through the box b<2> and carrying a spreader d<1> regulates the fuel issuing from the tapered outlet of the tube b. The needle valve may be dispensed with when gas is being burnt. The nozzle a is provided with an inner wall a' spaced by spiral ribs from the outer wall. Air'or steam is supplied to the body a through an inlet a' and issues as a straight current around the fuel tube surrounded by a swirling current. The needle-valve or fuel tube may alternatively be adjusted by a rack and pinion. The casing of a motor-driven fan or blower may be connected directly to or formed' integrally with the inlet a<3>. The fuel tubes for the different fuels should be of uniform external diameters so as to be interchangeable.
