Abstract
578,959. Liquid-fuel burners. LUCAS, Ltd., J., and WATSON, E. A. Aug. 28, 1942. No. 12152. [Class 75 (i)] [Also in Group XXIX] A liquid fuel injection nozzle comprises a discharge element b formed with a conical swirl chamber a secured by a threaded ring c against an annular member e seated in a tubular body d. the member e having a conical bore to receive a loosely mounted or rigidly secured plug g formed with helical or obliquely arranged passages h. The upper end of the plug g is of smaller diameter than the base of the swirl chamber a so that a pocket c is left in which deposits from the fuel can lodge. Facing rings j k of hard metal may be provided above and below the member e.
