[Class 80 (ii)] [Also in Groups XXXIV and XXVI] A resilient wheel comprising an outer rim 2 suspended from an inner rim 3 by elastic hoops 1 stretched over pins 6 is fitted with one or more devices 8 which damp radial displacements, and are connected to the rims by articulated means for permitting relative transverse displacements of the rims. As shown, the damping-devices are of the friction type used as shock-absorbers for vehicles, and are pivoted to lugs on the inner and outer rims by links 9, 10 respectively. To permit axial displacements, the links may be fitted with ball-and-socket joints or, as shown, elastic sleeve joints 11 may be used. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 describes the application of the invention to elastic couplings for shafts. This subjectmatter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
