Abstract
518,990. Electron multipliers. GENERAL ELECTRIC CO., Ltd., and ALDOUS, W. H. Sept. 14, 1938, No. 26828. [Class 39 (i)] A single stage electron multiplier consists of a photo electric cathode 2 on the envelope wall, a central secondary emitting electrode 4 surrounded by an output anode in the form of a helix 5, outside which is a second negatively biassed helix 6 to direct the primary photo electrons away from the anode to the electrode 4. According to the Provisional Specification the anode and directing electrodes may be slotted plates or the latter may be a pair of rods.
