[Class 39 (i)] In a photo-electric multiplier, the multiplying electrodes are grid-like and are made of the same material and sensitized in the same fashion as the cathode, the anode consisting of a material less capable of sensitization. One or more grids may comprise slots edgewise to the light and the anode may be a grid. The sensitizing material is preferably caesium deposited simultaneously on oxidized bases on the cathode and multiplying electrodes.
