[Class 39 (ii)] A gas-filled lamp having an operating pressure exceeding 1 atmosphere and a bulb containing a filament of highly concentrated form, such as a coiled coil, has an internal diameter opposite the filament of not more than 15 mm. and of at least two-thirds the dimension of the filament in the longitudinal direction of the bulb and the filament is arranged in the immediate neighbourhood of one of the ends of the bulb. Blackening occurs where luminous radiation is not obstructed. Lamps for 12 and 230 volts and fittings at 15 atmospheres (cold) are described. Specification 515,704, is referred to.
