439,330. Electric incandescent lamp bulbs. NAAMLOOZE VENNOOTSCHAP PHILIPS' GLOEILAMPENFABRIEKEN, Emmasingel, Eindhoven, Holland. Nov. 14, 1934, No. 32794. Convention date, Jan. 8. [Class 39 (ii)] In an electric incandescent lamp a gas-filled bulb containing crypton, xenon, or both of these gases, and constituting the lamp proper, has an internal volume in cubic centimetres equal to W + 25, where W is the wattage of the lamp, and is surrounded by a second bulb which may be of normal dimensions. The space between the bulbs may be gas-filled, or apertures may be provided in the outer bulb to allow air to circulate therethrough. In one form the outer bulb 1, inner bulb 2, and the stem or tube 3 for the current supply wires 4, 5 are fused together at 6, the external diameter of the tube 3 being substantially equal to the internal diameter of the neck of the bulb 2. Alternatively the flare of the stem tube may be fused in the opening of the outer bulb, the inner bulb being either cemented on the end of the stem tube or fused to a flange or protuberance around the wall thereof. Preferably the filament 8 is of the coiled-coil type.
