Abstract
381,837. Electric incandescent lamp bulbs. NAAMLOOZE VENNOOTSCHAP PHILIPS' GLOEILAMPENFABRIEKEN, 13D, Emmasingel, Eindhoven, Holland. March 2, 1932, No. 6319. Convention date, March 3, 1931. [Class 39 (ii).] In a capless electric incandescent lamp or discharge tube 1 the sealed end 7 of the exhausting tube 6 is located in a cavity of the bulb or in a space formed by an extension sealed to the bulb. In the form shown the exhausting tube 6 is located within the stem tube 2 in such a position that it cannot be damaged by shocks or the like. The lower end of the tube 6 is sealed to the pinch 3. Alternatively a collar may be sealed around the edge of the upper portion of the bulb to surround the sealed end of the exhausting tube. The sealing of the exhausting tube may be effected by means of an incandescent wire, or a lens or mirror may be used to concentrate thermal ravs thereon. If the exhaust tube is made partly of metal, or provided with a metal stuffing material or a metal bush, sealing may be effected by high-frequency electric heating.
