Abstract
237,579. Naamlooze Vennootschap Philips' Gloeilampenfabrieken. July 23, 1924, [Convention date]. Repairing; bulbs.-To repair tipless bulbs when the exhaust tube 7 has broken off inside the stem 2, the broken tube is sealed up, as shown at 17, Fig. 4, and a new exhaust tube 16 is attached to another part of the bulb. The aperture 10 for the attachment of this tube is formed by heating the spot by a burner 12 and blowing through it by a compressed-air jet 11. To seal the broken tube, a piece of glass is placed upon it and fused by a pointed flame, a heat-resisting tube being first placed in the stem tube to protect it and the leading-in wires 4, 5.
