Abstract
525,604. Incandescent electric lamps. PHILIPS LAMPS, Ltd. July 1, 1939, No. 19220. Convention date, July 4, 1938. [Class 39 (ii)] Head-light lamps having a small auxiliary filament 10, Fig. 2, partly shaded for anti-dazzle purposes in association with the usual parabolic reflector 12, Fig. 4, by a screen 9 have a small cylindrical or substantially cylindrical bulb 2, the major width of which is substantially the same as that of the socket 1 so that the lamp may be inserted from the back of the reflector through a hole of such small dimensions that the reflective power is not materially diminished. The lamp shown is of the usual type with a main filament 8 and auxiliary filament 10 and three lead-in wires so that either filament can be in use at will. The bulb contains zirconium.
