Abstract
305,227. Pech, J. L. Feb. 3, 1928, [Convention date]. Bulbs. - Portions of the bulb of an electric lamp, which serves as an extra-focal luminous source in a reflector, are rendered opaque to prevent the passage of rays that would be submitted to double reflection between the glass bulb and the reflector and would give rise to virtual luminous points not coincident with the luminous source. The bulb A, Fig. 1, has a rectilinear filament B which is coincident with the axis CD of the parabolic reflector E, of which the focus is indicated at F. The portion M, defined by the line HI, is rendered opaque by means of a varnish or paint which may be incorporated in the glass, or applied, internally or externally, to the bulb. A translucent substance may be used such that the resultant rays from the reflector after reflection from the glass bulb are negligible. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specifications 10146/12, 18549/12, 203,471 and 269,029.
