[Class 39 (ii)] A lamp with a prismatic reflecting device inside the bulb has an additional filament so arranged as to illuminate the zone of the shadow due to the reflector. In the form shown, a ring 8 surrounding the filament 1 reflects the horizontal rays downwards and the auxiliary filament 10 in parallel with the main filament illuminates that part of the bulb interior which is shaded by the ring 8. In a modified form, the auxiliary filament surrounds the ring 8 A subdivided reflector may be used.
