Abstract
449,292. Vehicle &c. lamps. DIETRICH, F. R., 227, Freimannerstrasse, Freimann, Munich, Germany. Nov. 12, 1935, No. 31291. Convention date, Dec. 17, 1934. [Class 75 (ii)] A vehicle or like lamp comprises a reflector 4 conforming to part of an ellipsoid having axes in a ratio between 1: 2 and 1 4À5 and its aperture at a distance from the pole not exceeding half the length of the major axis, said aperture being fitted with a dispersing lens 5. The latter may occupy a part only of the aperture, the remainder being occupied by a part 6 which may be plane or of a prismatic form which is diflerent from that of the part 5. The outer surface of the lens may be formed with vertical cylindrical ribs to spread the light laterally, those opposite the part 6 preferably being more strongly dispersive than those opposite the part 5.
