Abstract

176,166. Lees, F. H. Dec. 16, 1920. Vehicle lamps.- In a vehicle lamp of the type in which a forwardly-facing reflector with a lamp bulb at its focal point is combined with a rearwardlyfacing spherical reflector, the latter is provided with a central aperture through which is projected a parallel or substantially parallel beam of light. In front of an internal wall a<3> of a casing a is located a reflector c, Fig. 4, provided with a -sleeve c<2> for the bulb-holder d and apertures c<1>. The rearwardly-facing reflector f has a rim f<1> for attachment to the casing a and a central elongated aperture f<2> corresponding to the size and shape of the reflector c. Fitting within the rim a<2> of the casing a is a plate a<4>, Fig. 2, having a central aperture a<5> and a glass front b having a central plain part b<2> and upper and lower ribbed segments b<1>. In the space between the reflector f and glass b is fitted a reflector g of cylindrical or annular parabolic form or a pair of mirrors. The reflectors c, f may be formed so as to fit within each other and the reflector c may have only one aperture c<1>. The glass front b may be formed without the ribbed portions b<1> or with only one. In a modification, the casing a is drum-shaped.
