Abstract

688,863. Vehicle lamps. PAL NARODNI PODNIK, and STUMPER, J. Sept. 15, 1950 [Sept. 16, 1949], No. 22702/50. Class 75(iv) The glass cover 3 of a vehicle headlamp is inserted in a cylindrical portion 8 at the front of the lamp casing 1 and held therein by bayonet joints locked by springs 12 exerting pressure in an outward direction upon the glass cover. The bayonet joints comprise pins 11 extending inwardly from the cylindrical portion 8 of the casing and L-shaped groove 10 formed on the outer surface of a cylindrical rim 9 on the cover glass. The springs 12 are fixed at spaced points to the casing and press against the edge of the cover glass to hold. the pins in recesses at the ends of the grooves. A parabolic reflector 2 having an opening through which an electric bulb extends is cemented into a groove in the rim 9 of the cover glass; alternatively the refiector may have an out-turned rim which engages between the springs 12 and the edge of the cover glass. In a modified construction the rims of both the reflector and the cover glass are out-turned and are held in abutment by a ring having slots in which the pins of the bayonet joints engage.
