Abstract

634,288. Vehicle lamps. COLLINS, A. L., and WINDSOR MANUFACTURING CO., Ltd. March 11, 1947, No. 17102. Divided out of 634,392. [Class 75 (iv)] The front glass bezel ring of a vehicle lamp is attached to the lamp casing by a resilient retaining member one end of which detachably engages an external projection on the lamp casing while the other end is sprung over the front of the bezel ring. An aluminium bezel ring 11 is held on the front of a synthetic plastic lamp casing 10 by means of a hollow resilient metal member 21 which at one end 24 engages the undercut end 23 of a rib 22 integral with the casing whilst its other end 25 is sprung over the front of the bezel. Sideways displacement of the retaining member 21 is prevented by its sides 26 extending along the sides of the rib 22. The bezel ring fits around an annular projection on the lip of the casing and is located thereon by a pin 19 on the casing fitting into an axial groove 18 on the bezel. The lower portion of the bezel is secured by a radial projection on the ring engaging a slot 15 in a metal strip 16 attached to the inside of the casing. A reflector 30 carrying a bulb assembly 34 is attached to the bezel ring by a split ring 31 which engages beneath a number of lugs 32 on the bezel. The electrical connections to the bulb and the means for securing the lamp to a supporting bracket are as described in Specification 634,392.
