Abstract

919,993. Prefocus electric lamp bulbs. RIVAL LAMPS Ltd. Dec. 8, 1961 [Dec. 16, 1960], No. 43406/60. Classes 39 (2) and 75 (4). A prefocus bulb for motor vehicle lamps having an elongated filament extending transversely to the length of the bulb, has a base with a radially projecting circular flange having two notches at the ends of radii of the flange substantially at 90 degrees to one another. In the form shown, the bulb has a helical filament 7 at right-angles to the axis of the bulb and a flange 4 on the cap 2 having two notches 5, 6. The reflector 9 has a socket 8 having a projection 11 for engaging one or other of the notches so that the filament is horizontal or vertical. The bulb is held in place by a collar 12 having a tongue engaging a slot 14 in the socket 8 and a spring 15 engaging in a further slot in the socket 8 behind the projection 11.
