Abstract

1,074,458. Lamps. P. CIBIE. Sept. 22, 1964 [Oct. 11, 1963], No. 38680/64. Heading F4R. A motor vehicle headlamp has an oblong front opening the perimeter of which is formed by two parallel lines and two symmetrical circular arcs whose centres are not at the centre of symmetry of the opening, and a reflector which comprises a portion of a parabolic surface of revolution joined to the opening by a cylindrical surface described by a generating line which moves parallel to the axis of the parabolic surface and traces the perimeter of the opening, the parabolic surface being such that it intersects the plane of the opening in a circle having a diameter at least equal to the greatest dimension of the opening.
