Abstract

1,059,102. Lampholders. JOSEPH LUCAS (INDUSTRIES) Ltd. Nov. 26, 1963 [Dec. 12; 1962], No. 46877/62. Heading H2E. [Also in Division F4] A vehicle lamp comprises a body of moulded synthetic resin provided with means for securing it to a vehicle, the body having an integral bulb supporting socket and at least one resilient arm being pivoted to the body and movable from an inoperative position to one in which it holds the bulb in position and provides an electrical connection thereto. In the form shown, the lamp comprises a cylindrical outer casing 6 having an integral reflector 7, closed in front by a lens 13 and provided with sockets 8, 9 to receive bulbs 18,25. The bulb 18 has a flange 17 engaging a rim 16 in the socket 8 with the interposition of an annular metal conductor 21 having an extension 22 formed with a screw-thread to receive the bulb 25 in the socket 9 and a further extension 24 forming an earth terminal. The bulb 18 is held in place by a pair of pivoted, spring tongues which are also connected to the leads and contact terminals on the base of the bulb connected to main and dipped filaments. The body 6 is formed with spigots for securing it to brackets on the vehicle.
