Abstract

1380083 Vehicle lamps BUTLERS Ltd 8 March 1972 [3 April 1971 11 Dec 1971] 8626/71 and 57665/71 Heading F4R [Also in Division H2] A vehicle lamp comprises a hollow body 11 carrying terminal members 39 and closed by a lens 12 and, mounted in aperture 13 of body 11, a bulb holder assembly 14 which includes a bulb holder housing 19 retained by an abutment 20 in a bore 21 in support member 18 which carries a pair of contacts 35, 36, providing connection to bulb 17 and wherein a resilient shroud 23 forming part of support member 18 extends around aperture 13 to seal it and urge the contacts and terminals to engage. The moulded synthetic resin body 11 has an integrally formed outwardly projecting annular spigot 24 which engages the support 18 between the main body thereof and the shroud. A resilient ring 25 surrounding the shroud aids the sealing of the shroud with the body. The bulb holder assembly 14 is releasably mounted by a bayonet fitting, Figs. 3, 4 (not shown), in the body 11 to permit replacement of the bulb.
