Abstract

In a sealed headlamp comprising a reflector 1 having a lens 3 secured to it in a pressure-tight manner and an incandescent lamp bulb 4 mounted on a metal sleeve 7 and located in the reflector by a metal plate 8 supported by the reflector via a sleeve 9, the metal plate 8 and the metal sleeve 7 are secured together and sealed by a connection compound 14 filling an annular groove 13 in the metal plate where it contacts the metal sleeve. This connection compound may be a solder or a cement. The lamp bulb itself is cemented into the metal tube 7 and sealing provided by a block 17 of synthetic resin containing connection tags 20. Further sealing is provided between the metal plate 8 and the sleeve 9 in which it is held by an annular sealing ring 12.
