Abstract

1,022,007. Electric incandescent lamps. PHILIPS ELECTRONIC & ASSOCIATED INDUSTRIES Ltd. Jan. 24, 1964 [Jan. 28, 1963], No. 3169/64. Heading H1F. A lamp bulb 10 is mounted with clearance in a lamp cap 19 and the seal 12 of the bulb which is surrounded by the cap is secured to the cap by a metal connecting body having at least two deformable curved limbs 32, 33 extending in the same angular direction about the axis of the cap. The connecting body comprises two identically shaped parts 28, 29 welded together at 30, 31, one of the parts having apertures to receive glass projections 26, 27 on the bulb to anchor the body to the bulb. During assembly of the lamp the filament 13 is located accurately, relative to the cap, by bending the limbs 32, 33, after which the limbs are soldered to the cap and the cap is filled, if required, with cement. In an alternative construction, Fig. 6 (not shown), each part of the connecting body has two curved limbs.
