Abstract
1336463 Vehicle headlamps PHILIPS ELECTRONIC & ASSOCIATED INDUSTRIES Ltd 27 Sept 1971 [30 Sept 1970] 44824/71 Heading H1F [Also in Division F4] A twin filament halogen lamp comprises an envelope 7 including cyclindrical end portions 9, 11 and a widened central portion 13, a plane through the transition zone 19 between 9 and 13 lying approximately at the centre of the antidazzle filament 17, which itself is partially surrounded by a reflective screen 18. A part of the envelope is blackened at 35, e.g. by painting, the extent of area 35 being determined as follows: imaginary conical surfaces are generated by a line rotated through a point 14 on the envelope axis, between the filaments, using the zone 19 as a base, the surfaces being denoted by lines 37a, 37b where they intersect the plane of the drawing, the angle α between the line and the axis being between 40 and 50 degrees; the intersection of the surface with portion 13 of the envelope determines the axial limit of area 35.
