Abstract
1,100,778. Sealed beam headlamps. PHILIPS ELECTRONIC & ASSOCIATED INDUSTRIES Ltd. 14 Oct., 1966 [19 Oct., 1965], No. 46006/66. Heading HIP. [Also in Division F4] A sealed beam headlamp comprising upper and lower reflector parts 11, 21 in the form of semi-paraboloids, the axes XX, YY of which extend in substantially the same directions and the foci F 1 , F 2 of which are spaced apart with the focus F 1 nearer to the vertex of the reflector, has a first helical filament 4 coincident with or closely parallel to the axis XX and between the focus F 1 and the window 3, the lead-in wires 5 and the filament end wires 41 being disposed above a horizontal plane containing at least a part of the filament. The lead-in wires 7 and the end wires 61 of a second filament 6 are also disposed mainly above the same plane.
