Abstract

1528185 Electric battery lamps UNION CARBIDE CORP 25 Sept 1975 [26 Sept 1974] 39230/75 Heading F4R A battery torch includes a push-button switch 9 and a permanent magnet 70 for temporarily attaching the torch to a magnetic surface, beneath a housing 51 secured to the main torch casing 2. The switch 9 is covered by a flexible boot 80 sealed by a gasket 81 so that the torch may be waterproof and floatable. As shown, the switch is located within a mounting bracket 22 comprising folding shell halves with a support surface 30. The bracket 22 is held in place by the housing 51 which is attached to the casing 2 by a rivet 78 and snap-in tabs (57, 58) (Figs. 8, 10, not shown), adjacent the front end. The torch also has a lens/reflector unit 4 and an end cap 3 secured to the battery casing 2.
