Abstract
1,176,192. Vehicle lamps. RAYDYOT Ltd. 23 July, 1968 [25 July, 1967], No. 34129/67. Heading F4R. A vehicle lamp comprising a lens 12 and a body 11 which forms or houses a reflector is supported by a bracket 13 having a first arm 31 which projects into the lamp and carries a bulb 53 and a second arm 32 which is adapted to be attached to the vehicle. The bracket projects through an aperture in the body 11 and is provided with lugs 40 which are adapted to pass through slots (26, Fig. 2, not shown) around the periphery of the aperture and engage behind the intervening portions of the body to form a bayonet joint so that the bracket can be removed from the body by withdrawing the first arm through the aperture. Two diametrically opposite lugs are provided with a groove and slot respectively which co-operate with projections on the body to lock the bracket in a predetermined position, and a resilient gasket 42 ensures a tight seal. The arm 31 is hollow and the mounting plate 65 of the bulb 53 is held against the end of the arm by a spring clip 63 which also secures the bulb hood 70, the bulb leads 51 being led out through the slotted lug. The lens and body are permanently secured together by epoxy resin.
