Abstract
700,204. Vehicle lamps. LUCAS (INDUSTRIES), Ltd., J. April 28,1952 [June 13, 1951], No. 13997/51. Classes 75 (2) and 75 (4). A vehicle electric lamp adapted to give a light to both front and rear comprises an annular body part a having a central rear boss b and an attachment foot d, a front cover o detachably connected to the annular part and a translucent screen q secured between the annular part and the front cover, the front cover forming a window and also serving as a reflector for the rear light. The part p of the front cover reflects light rearwardly and is parabolic shape. The cover may be made from metal and provided with a window at its centre or it may be made from transparent plastic and part of its rear surface rendered opaque. The cover screws into the annular part and the screen q is clamped between the cover and the annular part. The rear boss b is joined to the annular part by radial ribs providing between them apertures for the rearwardly directed light. The foot d is provided with a hollow threaded stem e with nut f for securing the lamp in a hole in the body g of the vehicle. The lamp bulb m is carried in an apertured plate k mounted in the lamp body. An electric contact i is mounted on an insulating part h secured in the central boss b.
