Abstract

515,987. Electric battery lamps for cycles &c. SULLAM, S. D, Nov. 21, 1938, No. 33779. [Classes 39 (ii), 75 (iii) and 75 (iv)] An electric battery lamp for cycles &c. comprises a cylindrical housing 15 which is fitted with a white lens 17 and a facetted red lens 16 and is connected by a rectangular union 12 to the lid 3 of a battery casing 1. The lamp bulb 9 is screwed in a tube 6 carried by a blade 5 secured to the upper part of the casing 1 and adapted for engagement with a switch 4. A rod 10 at the centre of the tube 6 connects the centre contact of the bulb 9 with one pole of the battery 2. A bracket 23 secured to the wheel spindle carries the lamp by engagement with a slide way 18 on the casing, play being prevented by a resilient blade 19. A third lens to illuminate the side of the road may be provided.
