[Classes 75(ii). 75(iii) and 75(iv)] A vehicle spotlight mounted in a housing on the roof of an automobile is rotatable about vertical and horizontal axes by a handle positioned within the automobile. Fig. 2 and 3 show a reflector 27 and light source 29 mounted in a housing 40 on a plate 17 carried by a plug 16 which is rotatable in an aperture in the roof 3 by a handle 21. The reflector is pivoted in a fork 26 carried by the plug 16 and may be rotated about a horizontal axis by a wire 30 secured at its lower end to an extension of the handle 21. The plate 17 rests on a bearing plate 7 secured to a spongerubber pad 6 on the roof 3. The housing 40 may be wholly transparent or part-transparent and part-translucent or opaque. The spotlight may be mounted in front of a housing 50 containing a warning lamp 60 and fitted with lenses or panes 54. The panes 54 may be differently coloured and carry indicating marks or names. The housing may have side extensions 57 fitted lenses 58 having vertical prisms at the bottom and horizontal prisms at the top for distributing the light from the spotlight when reversed rearwardly and laterally. The lamps 29, 60 may be switched on alternatively by means of a 3-position switch 71 on the handle 21. The circuits being made through ring contacts on the plug 16. In place of the rotatable housing 40, the housing may be fixed and the reflector and lamp rotated within it.
