Road-traffic signals.-An electric lamp adapted to be carried by a hand for road-traffic signalling, is so mounted as to illuminate the back of the hand and the direct outward rays a are shaded by a device which is movable to allow direct light to be used for inspection purposes. A lamp bulb e is detachably or otherwise secured to an elastic, spring, or other band a adapted to encircle the hand and carrying a push, tumbler, or other switch f the leads g from which are carried to any suitable source such as a small dry battery carried on or in the driver's jacket. Alternatively, the bulb may be mounted directly on a battery supported on the back of the hand underneath the hand a. The bulb e is shaded by a hinged dome or other shaped reflector i provided or not with a red glass panel k, the base j of the reflector being positioned a suitable distance from the band a.
