Abstract
1285472 Handlamps WORLD-LIGHT MANUFACTORY Ltd 17 April 1970 [22 April 1969] 20613/69 Heading F4R An emergency handlamp for use by vehicle drivers has a handle and a lamp housing in which are fitted two bulbholders holding bulbs, the first 13 being fitted in a reflector 17 behind a lens 21 so that its bulb shines through the lens, and the second 14 being fitted behind the reflector 17 so that light from its bulb shines through a coloured rear lens 37, there being a flashing unit in the circuit of the second bulbholder. A fourposition switch 11 is provided which allows the conditions of both bulbs off, first bulb only on, second bulb only on, or both bulbs on. The switch has a press-button operation, so that successive operations of the press-button produce first, second, third and fourth positions in sequence. The electrical power for the lamp is obtained from the battery of the car. The housing of the lamp is made from a translucent coloured material which provides a side wall around the second bulbholder so that light from a bulb in this holder can show through the side wall.
