Abstract

The indicator on the instrument panel of an automobile tells the driver if his lights are switched on and working. The indicator consists of a small box with a transparent front panel (12) and divided into three compartments (14, 18, 22). Each compartment has a bulb (16, 20, 24) emitting green, orange and blue light respectively. The bulbs are connected respectively to the parking lights, the dipped beam headlamps and the full beam headlamps. The driver is thus able to tell from the colour of the light and the region of the panel (12) which of his lights are switched on.
