Vehicle and like lamps; search-lights. -A lamp for motorcars &c. is made with an annular toric lens b s u r - rounding the electric lamp bulb a, and a mirror c surrounding the lens b by which the rays emerging from the lens are reflected parallel to one e another. In front of the lens b is a spherical o r spherically corrected lens d carried by the lamp front e. A mirror h is fixed behind the lamp bulb a. Cylindrical or other lenses which cause the rays to diverge in any desired direction may be fixed to the lamp front e. The lamp may be used in lighthouses in which case the issuing parallel beam of light is reflected by a mirror, which may revolve.
