[Class 75 (iv)] An electric discharge lamp is mounted in the focal axis of the reflector of a lantern by engaging a cylindrical part of the translucent outer jacket of the lamp 4 in an accurately made cylindrical spring clip 1 which is rigidly secured in the lantern with its centre coaxial with the focal axis of the reflector. The clip 1 is secured to a strip 2 which is secured to or formed integrally with a mounting bracket 3, and the lamp engages with a flexibly mounted lamp holder.
