Abstract

Bulbs. - In an overhead lamp adapted to produce a substantially uniform illumination of a surface to be illuminated, use is made of a lamp bulb having a circular filament 2 and one or more internal annular reflectors 3 which may be made of polished metal, opal glass, or reflecting prisms. The reflector 3 changes the vertical polar curve of light distribution PI of the filament 2 into that shown at P4. This bulb is combined with a number of external annular reflectors E1, E2, E3 of such curvatures that the combination produces the vertical curve of distribution shown at P3 corresponding to a substantially uniform illumination of the surface to be illuminated.
