Abstract

398,966. Street &c. lamps. LONG, H. H. and BENJAMIN ELECTRIC, Ltd., Brantwood Works, Tariff Road, Tottenham, London. June 7, 1932, No. 16057. [Classes 75 (ii) and 75 (iv).] A street or like lamp adapted to provide substantially uniform illumination of a rectangular area comprises a main diffusing reflector 10 with a skirt extension 11 on one side and a V-sectioned reflector 13 located between the extension and the light source 12 and extending beneath the light source. The reflector 10 may be formed of vitreous enamel and it may be of elliptical or rectangular shape with the light source out of centre and. nearer to the extension 11. The reflector 13 may be of a specular or semispecular nature and it may be easily detachable from the reflector 10 or its outer portion 13a may be hinged to give access to the light source. Specifications 364,956 and 364,976 are referred to. According to the Provisional Specification the reflector 13 may have a chromium plated surface or be made of mirror glass.
