Abstract

423,536. Vehicle &c. lamps. TAYLOR, F., 347, Uppingham Road, Leicester. Nov. 24, 1933, No. 32926. [Class 75 (iv)] An anti-dazzle device for a vehicle or like lamp comprises a number of spaced vertical vanes 2 and a horizontal vane 3 all arranged on a ring 1 or the like, the vane 3 being disposed above the bulb c with its rear edge curved substantially to conform with the curvature of the reflector b. The vanes may be dull, they may be bright so as to act as reflectors, or they may be coated with amber coloured varnish or the like so as to tint the reflected light. The central vertical vanes may extend rearwardly a greater distance than the side vanes, and the tops and bottoms of these central vanes and the rear edges of the side vanes may conform to a surface similar to, but smaller than, that of the reflector. The vane 3 may be provided with a number of slots extending from its front edge to receive the vanes 2 which are provided with top and bottom tongues adapted to pass through slots in the ring 1 and to be bent over and soldered to the ring. The latter may be fitted with clips 4 to engage the lip d of the reflector, or it may be fitted with an indiarubber or like packing ring 5 whereby it may be gripped between the lip and the bezel ring to form a tight and noiseless joint.
