Abstract

288,898. Lund, W. H., and Howard, W. C. Sept. 14, 1927. Reflectors.-A vehicle lamp reflector comprises a parabolic portion b combined with a curved portion c adapted to diffuse laterally a short range beam of light over a wide area immediately in front of the vehicle. The portion c merges into the portion b at a point d substantially vertically above the focus of the parabola, and along two edges g inclined downwardly and outwardly from the point d, the lower ends of the edges g being substantially below the horizontal plane of the axis of the parabola. The front edge f of the parabolic portion b may be outwardly flared to diffuse the light rays which fall upon it.
