334,803. Steffen, G. Nov. 30, 1928, [Convention date]. Lantern screens.-In a vehicle lamp in which a portion c of the upper half of the reflector b is pivotally mounted at a point d so as to reflect in a downward direction rays emitted upwardly by a source of light a, a smaller portion e of the lower half of the reflector is pivotally mounted at a point f nearer to the centre of the lamp than the point d, so that, when the portions c, e are in their operative position, the lamp projects a downwardly directed flat -topped beam of light I, II, IV, and a secondary beam of light III directed upwardly at a steep angle. The portions c. e may be cut from the reflector b, or they may be formed separately therefrom, and they may be adjusted by hand, mechanically, or electrically.
