Abstract

401,506. Vehicle &c. lamps. McNAUGHT, A. J., The Bower, Lawson Road, Thornton, near Blackpool, and GOODING, R. D., 20, Lauderdale Avenue, Anchorsholme, Blackpool. Dec. 16, 1932, No. 35648. [Class 75 (iv).] A vehicle or like lamp is fitted with two sets of translucent inclined louvres, those in one set being arranged at an angle to those in the other set, and the adjacent front and rear edges of the louvres are in the same plane or overlap so that all light projected by the lamp must pass through the louvres. In the form shown, glass louvres 9 are mounted in slots in metal rings 8, 10 arranged one behind the other, the front set being vertical and the rear set horizontal. The two sets may be arranged at 45‹ to the horizontal in opposite directions or they may intersect at an angle other than 90‹. The louvres maybe of different colours, particularly for use in fog, and a number of straight, angular or curved radial reflecting louvres may be disposed in front of the translucent louvres.
